A bright red box with a silver ribbon is delivered to Peter. Inside are pink snowflake sugar cookies and a fun selfie. The back of the picture reads:

The letter will appear with any others at the end of Peter's bed overnight and without any sign of breaking-in entry.
The writing on the front is a chicken scratch of Peter's name and at some point, he might find out that it's Tim's own hand and that the kid has appalling penmanship. Inside the cutout ransom note style lettering simply spell out.
'Tim's other name is Red Robin and he's been doing this since he was thirteen.'

Peter wakes up to the letter, staring at it oddly as he tries to figure out what it means. For a moment none of it makes sense to him.
And then it all snaps into place.
The cut out letters though really cause an uneasiness with him. Especially when he finds the locks and security measures all still in place.

He picks up his device and sends Tim a text.

In fairness, Peter isn't even certain he'll get a response. Not given what the message said and the fact that while he's come to be more open about it, he knows that he hasn't been with anyone for a long time.
He considers the message he does get, and what he thinks of that. The truth is, he isn't sure how to answer that all things considered. He has a lot of questions. He's just not sure he has a right to ask.

Tim can understand that Peter might be a little hurt by the lies he had fed him on the day they'd met but Tim hopes he can make him understand why.

Peter knows he shouldn't be hurt. He also knows he is, but he doesn't want Tim to feel bad for protecting himself. It leaves him staring at the phone for a few, considering what to say.

I've never been open about it but I've since learnt there are plenty in this city who have already been informed and that looking back through the network would have exposed me anyway.

Actually, it was Kurt and he didn't need a window. He just [He makes a motion with his hands like an explosion] poof and appeared in my lounge room. That mug did break because the man can dodge but he doesn't have your reflexes apparently.
