That Nate moves in closer just makes him smile as he leans into him, fingers lightly brushing along the tips of that pale fringe.
"I know. I trust you. And that means if this place screws with us, we work it out. Okay? Because we both know the other will do their best not to let that happen." And he believes that, that they'll do whatever they can to avoid doing that to one another.
His heart swells in that moment, looking into those crystalline eyes with such affection. "Yeah well, if your bee eff eff from back home shows up, we can revisit this talk," he points out. "Though could you handle two of us?"
"I handled you and Wade at the same time, remember?" Tilt of his head and a slow little grin on his lips, he certainly refers to a pre-Christmas get together the three of them had on the couch and the very Naughty Ways it went.
Puff of laughter, he ducks his head into Peter's chest and hums a little before he looks back up to him, cheek pressed there to the man's chest as he does.
"Even if he did show up here, what he and I have isn't what you and I have." A truth he doesn't need to try and make be anything other than it is. Licking over his lips, his eyes almost crinkle some as he keeps looking to him. "I love you, remember?"
Peter blushes but he can't help but smile at that memory. "I admit, I definitely had a good time that night. Best Christmas present I think," he adds, stroking Nate's cheek as they talk about it.
"I know." Because he knows that's true, but doesn't mind teasing about it either. Though words though, they make him sigh and give Nate such a sappy look. "I love you too, and I got it. Definitely not worried, honestly. I'm glad you brought this up though. I like we can talk about things."
"Me too." With the being glad they can talk about these sorts of things because... they're definitely important. Definitely something they shouldn't just sweep under the rug.
Settling in against Peter a little better, he hums and twists about until he's nestled there in the crook of his arm, leg stretched out and head slightly against his chest, just staring across the room from the bed. It's nice to have someone to share a bed with again, even if it's just whenever they can. He's missed it... missed the feeling.
"The others like you, you know," he looks up a bit then. "From where I'm from. They like Peter Parker and before you say the one they know, yes. That's true. But you're also Peter Parker and I know they'd like you, too."
It's the first time they've really talked about Wade like this since he's been gone, and he's glad they can. Nate needs to talk about him, to remember him while they can and be happy for the time they had with him. Especially for Nate.
Peter wraps his arm a bit more around Nate and cradles him close as he leans up and kisses the top of his head tenderly. There's this ease between them, a comfort he hasn't ever known. Not even in his youth. Not like this.
"Trust me. I know how much we're all one and not at the same time. Though he's Peter Four, just so you know," he teases, stroking his fingers along Nate's shoulder.
The smile he wears is a soft one, nestled in nice and close against the other man who keeps him warm in his embrace. This would be nice, he thinks. Having something like this every night. Having something like this with Peter every night.
"Mentally noted," he murmurs gently, letting blue eyes fall shut as he relaxes, cheek still pressed to Peter's chest. "I mean it though. Family is... I don't even really know still for myself. But you have a place with us here. Even if you're not a mutant. It doesn't matter. You matter."
Something in his chest tightens and Peter draws a shaky breath. Those words mean so much to him, and he feels apart of something for the first time in so long.
He wraps both arms around Nate, holding him close to him as if he never wanted to let go.
"Thank you. I don't know if you know how much that means to me to hear you say that," he whispers, knowing his voice sounds a bit choked as he says it.
Wrapped up in those arms, he smiles, despite Peter's unlikeliness to see it. "I might have a bit of an idea." Not just because of their shared connection either. Shifting just the tiniest bit there in those arms, he looks up to Peter, hand resting there on the other man's chest.
"I mean it though and while I can't or shouldn't speak for the others, I know it's true for them, too."
There's something so amazing about that moment. Of holding on to one another and sharing just such a tender intimacy and Peter loves how it feels. Like family as they've talked about, and like there's parts of him that have been shattered for so long that are starting to feel whole again.
He arches his neck slightly to meet Nate's brilliant blue gaze, smiling at him.
"Thank you. I am happy to have you, and know they're there too. It's more than I've had in a long time."
"You're not alone here, ok?" Words he means and hopes Peter knows, leaning in then to nose at the other man gently. "Even if people aren't here from where you're from, you still have people here for you. Not just me."
Smile on his lips, he kisses Peter then lets himself settle against him again, stroking a hand over the front of his chest as he does.
The words are tight and a little rough, because it means a lot to him and is something he hasn't felt in a long time. As if he has a place to be.
"I know," he whispers just after the kiss, his fingers stroking along Nate's shoulder. "And I'm going to be here for you, and them, as much as I can. As long as I can."
"I know you will." Words soft, he noses at Peter for another kiss before he lets himself completely settle in against him then, content to just stay the rest of the night like this. Despite their being unable to promise to one another that neither of them will up and vanish, he likes to think, maybe, this time it might be true.
