There's something so amazing about that moment. Of holding on to one another and sharing just such a tender intimacy and Peter loves how it feels. Like family as they've talked about, and like there's parts of him that have been shattered for so long that are starting to feel whole again.
He arches his neck slightly to meet Nate's brilliant blue gaze, smiling at him.
"Thank you. I am happy to have you, and know they're there too. It's more than I've had in a long time."
"You're not alone here, ok?" Words he means and hopes Peter knows, leaning in then to nose at the other man gently. "Even if people aren't here from where you're from, you still have people here for you. Not just me."
Smile on his lips, he kisses Peter then lets himself settle against him again, stroking a hand over the front of his chest as he does.
The words are tight and a little rough, because it means a lot to him and is something he hasn't felt in a long time. As if he has a place to be.
"I know," he whispers just after the kiss, his fingers stroking along Nate's shoulder. "And I'm going to be here for you, and them, as much as I can. As long as I can."
"I know you will." Words soft, he noses at Peter for another kiss before he lets himself completely settle in against him then, content to just stay the rest of the night like this. Despite their being unable to promise to one another that neither of them will up and vanish, he likes to think, maybe, this time it might be true.
